Frequently Asked Questions
Trust & Safety
1. Are your cleaners licensed, insured, and background-checked?
Yes. Every Francy Maids cleaner is licensed, insured, and background-checked before they ever step into a home. We serve families across McKinney, Allen, Plano, and Frisco, and we know that inviting someone into your space is a matter of trust. That trust comes standard with us.
2. Who exactly will be coming into my home?
In most homes, one dedicated Francy Maids cleaner takes care of everything, and for larger homes or deep cleanings we send a team of two or more. You'll recognize us right away: pink Francy Maids shirt, black pants, gloves, and clean shoes at the door. Because our team stays with us for the long run, the person cleaning your home this month is almost always the same person you'll see next month. You get to know them, and they get to know your home.
3. Will I have the same cleaner every time?
Yes, that's our standard practice. Francy Maids assigns the same cleaner to your home so she gets to know your family, your routine, and the little details that matter to you. On the rare occasion the schedule requires a substitute, she arrives trained to the same standard and briefed with your home's care notes, so the quality stays consistent. And you'll always know in advance who's coming to your door.
4. What happens if something is damaged during a cleaning?
If anything is damaged during a Francy Maids cleaning, we make it right, simple as that. We arrange the repair, or if you prefer to handle it yourself, we reimburse you for the cost. If the item can't be repaired, we reimburse you for it. In all our years cleaning homes across McKinney, Allen, Plano, and Frisco, this has happened only a handful of times, because our team treats every home with the same care we'd want in our own.
5. What if an area gets missed or I'm not happy with the result?
Your satisfaction is 100% guaranteed. If anything falls short of your expectations, just let us know and we'll come back the next day to make it right at no extra cost. Our cleaners follow a detailed quality process on every visit, so this rarely happens. But when it does, you never have to live with it, not even for a week until the next cleaning.
6. Am I liable for employment taxes, workers' comp, or insurance?
No. When you hire Francy Maids, you take on zero employer responsibility. We carry active workers' compensation and insurance coverage, so if a cleaner is ever injured while working in your home, that's fully on us, never on you. This is one of the biggest differences between hiring a professional cleaning company and hiring an individual cleaner, where the homeowner can end up carrying legal and financial risk without knowing it.
7. How do you handle my keys, garage codes, and alarm system?
However you're most comfortable. Many of our clients are home during the cleaning, and many others simply leave a door unlocked, a key in a spot of their choice, or share a garage or alarm code. Any code you share stays with our customer service team and is passed only to your assigned cleaner on the day of your cleaning. And here's something that sets us apart: Francy Maids never stores clients' keys. Your home's access stays in your hands, always.
What's Included
8. What's included in a standard recurring cleaning, and how is it different from a deep cleaning?
A Francy Maids standard cleaning covers your whole home: dusting all reachable surfaces, ceiling fans, blinds and light fixtures, making beds, scrubbing bathrooms top to bottom, degreasing your microwave and cooktop, wiping down kitchen counters and appliances, and sweeping, vacuuming, and mopping every floor. A deep cleaning includes everything in the standard, then goes further: hand-wiping baseboards in every room, cleaning doors and cabinet doors, washing the backsplash, and wet-wiping surfaces where a standard visit dusts. We recommend starting with a deep cleaning if it's been more than 3 months since your last professional cleaning, and our recurring clients typically schedule one twice a year to keep everything at its best.
9. What do you NOT clean?
A few things fall outside our regular cleanings. Some are available as add-ons whenever you'd like: inside the oven, inside the refrigerator, inside cabinets, washing dishes, and sweeping the garage, just ask when you book. For the safety of our team, we never climb ladders to reach high spots and never move heavy furniture. And a few things we simply don't do: laundry, folding clothes, heavy decluttering, exterior windows, and yard areas. Everything else in your home, we've got covered.
10. What should I do before the team arrives?
A few small things help your Francy Maids cleaner give your home her full attention. Before we arrive, please secure energetic dogs, clear the sink of dishes, and pick up clothes, toys, and personal items from the floor. Leaving a roll of paper towels and trash bags on the kitchen counter helps us keep everything moving smoothly. And make sure we know the best way to get in, whether that's a key, a door code, or someone home to open the door. That's it. We take care of the rest.
11. Are your products safe for kids and pets? Can my pets stay home during the cleaning?
Yes. Francy Maids chooses products that are safe around kids and pets while still being tough on dirt and grime, because a family home deserves both. And yes, your pets can stay home. Calm, small dogs that don't get in the way are welcome to keep us company, and honestly, some of our clients' dogs know our cleaners so well they follow them around from room to room. If your dog is energetic or excitable, we just ask that you keep him secured during the cleaning so our cleaner can give your home her full attention.
12. Can you use my own cleaning products if I have allergies or scent preferences?
We work with our own professional products, and here's why: every product we use has been tested and validated to deliver the level of cleaning our clients expect from Francy Maids, and our 100% satisfaction guarantee depends on that consistency. All of our products are chosen to be safe around kids and pets. One exception we're happy to make: if you love Bona for your hardwood floors, just leave it out for us with your Bona mop and we'll gladly use it. And if you have a specific allergy or sensitivity, talk to us before your first cleaning, we'll always find a way to take care of you and your home.
13. Do you bring your own supplies and equipment?
Yes, everything. Your Francy Maids cleaner arrives with professional-grade products and the right equipment for every corner of your home, including vacuums with HEPA filtration that capture dust and allergens instead of stirring them back into the air. You don't need to provide a single thing. We show up ready to work.
Pricing & Payment
14. How much does house cleaning cost?
At Francy Maids, standard recurring cleanings start at $150 plus tax, and deep cleanings start at $295 plus tax, depending on your home's size, number of bedrooms and bathrooms, cleaning frequency, and the little details that make your home yours, like kids and pets. Ask for a free estimate: after a quick conversation with one of our cleaning specialists, you'll get an honest price range for your home, and the final price is confirmed right at the start. We keep our ranges realistic, and most cleanings land comfortably below the top of the range. No surprises on cleaning day, ever.
15. Do you charge hourly or a flat rate?
Francy Maids works with a flat rate, not an hourly charge. Once we agree on your price, that's your price on every visit, whether the cleaning takes a little more or a little less time that day. It only changes if you change something: adding an extra service like inside-the-oven cleaning, or booking a different type of visit like a deep cleaning. Your base rate stays your base rate. That's how you can actually plan for it in your budget.
16. Is the first cleaning more expensive?
No. At Francy Maids, your first standard cleaning costs the same as every cleaning after it, unlike many companies that charge a higher “initial cleaning” fee. The only time your first visit costs more is when we recommend starting with a deep cleaning, which makes sense if it's been more than 3 months since your last professional cleaning. And that's always discussed and agreed with you upfront, never added on its own.
17. Do you offer discounts for recurring service?
Yes, frequency is rewarded. Weekly cleanings cost less per visit than bi-weekly, and bi-weekly costs less than monthly, because a home we care for regularly stays easier to maintain, and that savings goes to you. Beyond that, we don't run coupons or promotional discounts. Our pricing is honest year-round, for every client, and your rate is confirmed in your free estimate.
18. How do I pay?
Francy Maids accepts card, Zelle, and Venmo, and your cleaning is charged at the end of the day your home was cleaned. You never pay for a service you didn't receive. If the cleaning happened, that's when you pay. Simple as that.
19. Should I tip my cleaner?
Tips are never expected, but they're always deeply appreciated. Whatever you give goes 100% to the cleaner who cared for your home that day, and she knows exactly who it came from. You can hand it to her in person or simply add it to your card, Zelle, or Venmo payment. Our cleaners say there's nothing like finishing a home and seeing that a family noticed the care they put in.
20. Is there a cancellation fee?
Not if you let us know at least 48 hours ahead. Need to reschedule or cancel a visit? Just give us 48 hours' notice and there's no charge, no questions asked. For cancellations with less than 48 hours' notice, a fee may apply, since your cleaner has reserved that time just for your home. That said, we're a family business and we know life happens. Talk to us, we'll always work something out.
Scheduling
21. Do I need to be home during the cleaning?
No, and most of our clients aren't. Many families use cleaning day as their errand day and come home to everything done, and honestly, an empty home is where our cleaners do their very best work, moving room to room without interruption. But if you work from home or simply prefer to be there, you're always welcome. We'll work quietly around your day. Just let us know the best way for your cleaner to get in, and we'll handle the rest.
22. What time will my cleaner arrive?
You'll get a specific arrival window when you schedule, and ours are short: typically 30 minutes to 1 hour, not the 3-to-4-hour windows common in this industry. Morning cleanings usually start between 8:30 and 9:00 AM. We plan our routes so your cleaner arrives when we said she would, and running late is the rare exception, not the routine. Your time matters, and we schedule like we believe it.
23. How soon can you start? Do you offer same-day service?
We typically welcome new clients the following week. Francy Maids doesn't offer same-day cleanings, and that's by design: every home on our schedule gets a planned visit, the right cleaner, and the time it deserves, never a rushed squeeze-in between other jobs. Our calendar fills up fast, so if you're thinking about it, ask for your free estimate today and we'll reserve your spot for the coming week.
24. How long does a cleaning take?
A standard Francy Maids cleaning takes about 3 hours on average, starting around 2.5 hours for smaller homes and up to 5 hours for larger ones. For deep cleanings and bigger homes, instead of stretching the visit even longer, we send additional cleaners, so no cleaning takes over your home for the whole day. In and out with excellence, and you get your fresh, clean home back with your day still ahead of you.
25. Am I locked into a contract?
No contracts, ever. At Francy Maids, recurring service works on trust: our customer service team confirms every single visit with you before it happens, so nothing runs on autopilot and nothing shows up as a surprise. If you ever want to pause or stop, one simple message to our team is all it takes. No forms, no fees, no awkward phone call. We'd rather earn your next cleaning than lock you into it.
26. How often should I schedule cleanings?
Bi-weekly is our most popular schedule, and for most homes it's the sweet spot between a consistently clean house and a comfortable budget. Weekly is the better fit for busy households: lots of kids, pets, a full house, and it's especially loved by our expecting moms, who tell us a weekly cleaning is what keeps the home running while they're growing the family. Monthly works too for smaller or quieter homes. And whatever rhythm you choose, we recommend a deep cleaning twice a year to keep everything at its very best.
27. What if I need to cancel or reschedule a visit?
Just send a quick message to our customer service team, known by our clients for answering fast, and we'll take care of it right away. With 48 hours' notice there's never a charge, and when you need to reschedule, we can usually find you a new spot within the same week. Plans change, we get it. Our job is to make this the easiest part of your week, not another thing to manage.
